What this site does
bustedminds.org is the organization home and Journal for Busted Minds. You can browse articles, author pages, topics, search results, and the RSS feed without an account. Signing in is required for account-aware features such as comments and saved articles.
Busted Minds Account
Sign-in is handled through Busted Minds Account. This site receives the basic identity details you approve—your account identifier, email address, display name, username, and approved profile picture—so it can recognize you. It does not receive your account password or Google access token.
Comments and reports
When you comment, we store the article, comment text, reply relationship, your Busted Minds identity reference, a display-name snapshot, and timestamps. Comments are public. You can delete your own comments. Signed-in readers may privately report unsafe comments; reports are visible to Journal editors and include the reporter’s account identifier.
Saved articles
When you save an article, we store the relationship between your Busted Minds Account and that article. Saved articles are private to your account and can be removed at any time.
Journal updates
If you subscribe to Journal updates, we store your email address, consent time, subscription state, and a private unsubscribe token. If you are signed in, the subscription may also reference your account. We use this information only for Busted Minds Journal updates and do not sell it.
Editorial workspace
For authorized Journal staff, we store roles, author associations, drafts, revision history, publishing decisions, media metadata, and moderation actions needed to operate the publication.
BM AI widget
Public Journal articles may offer an optional Busted Minds AI widget. If you use it, your prompts and any supported attachments are sent to Busted Minds AI for processing. Guest widget conversations are kept in your browser on that device until you clear them; signed-in conversations may be saved in the BM AI product. If you hide the widget, that preference is stored in your browser for 30 days. The widget does not give BM AI automatic access to your Journal, Chess, Search, Minds Feed, UNWAN, or account activity, and this site does not combine those product records into one activity profile.
Separate product data
Chess games, Search activity, AI conversations, Minds Feed preferences or saved stories, and UNWAN progress are handled by those respective products. This organization home does not combine them into one activity profile.
Service data
Our hosting and database providers may process ordinary technical information required to operate and secure the service, such as IP address, request metadata, and error logs.
Your choices
You may browse signed out, remove your comments and bookmarks, unsubscribe through the link in a Journal update, sign out of this site, or manage your central identity at accounts.bustedminds.org. For privacy questions, contact support@bustedminds.org.
